Recap of the Night: Packers win, bettors lose

The Packers are 5-1 and it feels good to be good again. Can’t wait for next week's matchup against Oakland back at Lambeau, but for now, here’s a recap of my thoughts throughout the night.

(7:10 pm) I have unbelievable confidence in the pack tonight, not only for the outright win but also to cover the -3.5 spread. After a disappointing primetime appearance against the eagles just two weeks ago, Matty Lafleur and the boys look to improve to 5-1 on the young season. Out of the 8 new head coaches in this year’s NFL, just one has a winning record, and he wears the green and gold. Ninja is in attendance with his (almost?) dime of a wife, and I can’t watch Aaron crush his little dreams.

(7:16) Flea Flicker. I hate my life. Over gonna hit?

(7:21) Good stop after the shitty first play. Turf monster gets a big one against Stafford. Lions 3, Pack 0

(7:33) Touchdown? No touchdown? You wouldn’t know if you looked at either ref on the opposite sides of the field. The fuck is that? I hate my life again. Buddies looking like the replacement refs 2.0 over the first 6 weeks of the season. Still confident in (-3.5) but god, this start is a punch in the gut.

(7:41) Fumble. Jones. The punches keep coming

(7:47) So far, the meatballs that call themselves defensive backs have been picked apart by Matt Stafford. Not much to cheer for. A lot to be pissed off about, a lot of game left.

(7:54) Another big stop by Mike Pettine’s defense, and for some reason, I’m still really confident in this team to come back. Two score game, and we have Aaron on our side. Definitely getting my hopes up. Keep reading for heartbreak.

(8:13) After a nerve-racking looooong touchdown drive, Jamaal Williams finds his way into the endzone. It was far from per-, it was almost the opposite of perfect, but it worked, I guess. Lions 13, Pack 7. Very confident.

(8:21) ZaDarius Smith is everyone's Dad

(8:38) Halftime. The second quarter was a bit more promising. The 4 minute offense was a bit shaky, but it got points on the board. I guess that’s the name of the game for this Packers team. Win, but win ugly. I still love the -3.5. Thinking about putting a live bet down on the Pack if the line looks good. We’ll see you in the second half after this dumb ass halftime show

(9:00) Another Crosby kick, another 3 points, this game keeps looking better and better.

(9:07) WE LOVE TURNOVERS

(9:24) Matt prater is killing us. But on the bright side, at least we’re not allowing 7 each time. Getting a little less confident about this spread, but I think the pack still pull this off.

(9:27) Refs

(9:38) Shepherd breaks my heart again. Aaron to MVS was incredible, Aaron to Shepherd was depressing. Don’t know what to think right now, but its not great. Lot of game left.

(9:43) Huge challenge win by Matty Lafleur. Another Prater field goal puts this game further out of reach then we want, but We. Have. Aaron.

(9:53) Lizard man strikes for the first time in his young career! Not gonna lie, about 5 seconds before that ball was snapped, I told my buddies “This Lizard Kid and Shepherd gotta be cut right now.” Lizard keeps his spot, but Shepherd is still on the chopping block. People forget Michael Crabtree is a Free Agent. You’re trying to tell me that you wouldn’t want Crabtree over this Shepherd fuck? I think not.

(10:20) THE SPREAD

(10:23) The Pack won. I lost. Happy, but sad. -3.5 seemed like a gimme, but I got trapped. The Packers beat a good team, but a team they were supposed to beat nevertheless. Not much else to say. 5-1, See you Sunday, back at Lambeau for another W. Peace
